Pete McNally (Havok) and Sam Muscroft (Daqri) will be showing you how to create your own 3D animation and make pop to life in augmented reality. You need to know 3DMax, Photoshop and Unity3D in order to attend this workshop.
There are two parts to this workshop:-

An introduction to ARToolkit with Alex and Sam
Pete would start with 3d scanning through photogrammetry, using 3dsmax, Mudbox, Photoshop and ither Agisoft Photoscan or Autodesk memento (Memento is the more accessible as it's web based and free). From that, generate and patch up a 3d model that is game ready, there'd be some work to do on the modelling side and some work to do on textures in Photoshop. When the model is ready, over to Sam who can take it through the process of getting into Augmented Reality through ARToolkit on Unity3D.

Pete is a Technical Artist with Havok, an Emmy award-winning technology company and has over twelve years experience in the Irish games industry. He has also worked at twice Academy Award nominated Brown Bag Films as a 3D Supervisor. Pete lectures around Ireland where time permits and also hosts workshops in game art around Dublin for smaller groups.
Sam has over 15 years experience working across software development, academic research and interactive media production. He has been experimenting with Augmented reality for over 8 years and has been working with Unity professionally for the past 6 years.
